This Week We’re Loving…(24.01.13)
It’s around about this time in January that we find ourselves either still trying to muster the will power to leave the sofa and start a new and improved healthy lifestyle or, we are quite the opposite and bored of the treadmill already.
If you’re after a workout that’s a little more inspiring head down to a Good Vibes studios in central London. The two studios are small but perfectly formed, havens of calm with spaces for Power Plates, Glow Yoga and Spincycle. The Power Plate classes are a great way to work out for the time-poor as the short bursts of intense exercise built into 25 minute classes ensures you work smarter not harder and, with only six people in a class you get personal training for a class price. However, we particularly enjoyed the Glow Yoga, a vinyasa flow yoga class practised in Europe’s first infra-red studio which allows the body to safely open and relax without the intense temperatures and humidity of a Bikram class. The locations are handy and the class schedules are flexible just like the membership options – all round Good Vibes!

We’ve all heard plenty about alcohol and health detoxes this January but what about our hair? Well that’s something the expert folk at Vidal Sassoon have been thinking a lot about. Their new product range combines the best technical know-how with innovative hair detox technology. The Detox Salon Series is a range of professional performance styling tools that also protect your hair. The curling tong and straighteners use high grade titanium plating, which is naturally hypoallergenic and ensures fast and even heat distribution, which means minimum damage to hair when styling. The titanium enhances the natural moisture of your hair and protects the condition. The detox technology also prevents bacteria build up so that hair is kept clean and frizz-free for longer.
The tongs are a steal at just £29.99, they heat up very quickly and have a dial to vary the temperature setting according to what suits your hair, the instruction booklet advises which temperature works best for coarse, thick or fine locks. You can use the tongs to create soft waves or tighter curls and they even have a salon length long cord which makes them easy to use without having to negotiate yourself into position right by a plug socket!
Vidal Sassoon Detox Titanium Tong, variable temperature, heating up to 220˚C £29.99
Vidal Sassoon Detox Salon AC Hairdryer with IONIC technology £59.99
